Working on the beta-edits for the first in my four book science fiction series, THEIRS NOT TO REASON WHY. So far, the majority of feedback has been very positive. (Thankfully, there have also been some nitpicks, or I'd start to worry, there... Paranoid? Why, yes, thank you; I'll take three scoops, just to be sure...)

I'm hoping everyone will like this series. It's a story I've been wanting to tell for a very long time, a full decade longer than the Sons of Destiny series. Heck, when it comes down to it, I have several tales waiting for their turn at being told--not just single books, though there are some, but whole series. Some in familiar universes, others in not so familiar.

Can't wait to get to 'em all, mweeheehee...!

I always try to give constructive feedback when I'm in a writing/reading group. It's nice to hear "I really enjoyed reading this..." but it's nicer to hear "what I enjoyed while reading this is the interaction between ... and the description of the wind in this paragraph made me remember something similar in real life..."

Sometimes those old ideas and protagonists just need a tootsie roll owl to crack open their storyline to get to the chewy center or the supporting character who's been sitting on a dusty cardboard box finally decides to climb on top and spout a bunch of nonsense.

This sci-fi series is part of a series of stories I've been wanting to tell since, oh...high school. This particular four-book set is something I developed in college (the first time around)...but the original stories, well, the writing sucked. So they're being rewritten in full. Most of the meat is being retained and most of the shape, but there have been several points of resculpting. Personally, I think it's making the story better. At least, I hope it's making the story better, lol...

It sounds like the mushy center of a brownie!
Can't wait until you're in the final draft to hear some of the warm, gooey and crunchy details.
So far what you're cooking is starting to smell delicious.
